Start a wish with a public link.

Import the information a page makes available, review the draft and add the details that matter to you.

Idea cards arranged in a desktop organiser

From a link to a useful draft

Paste the public page for a film, place, product, recipe, book or another idea. VIOTray can suggest details from that page. Review the draft before saving it to your collection.

The preview does not save a wish automatically. Choose to open the draft and create the card when you are ready.

A site does not need a dedicated integration

Public HTML pages may expose a title, description and image through standard metadata. Supported sources can also provide category-specific details. Availability depends on what the page returns.

What you may be able to import

Details to review after import
CategoryPossible detailsWhat to check
FilmsTitle, year, format and running timeThe correct version
PlacesName, address and coordinatesThe exact branch and pin
Shopping and giftsTitle, image, price and currencyThe selected size, colour and seller
RecipesIngredients, portions and instructionsQuantities and dietary needs
Books and learningAuthor, format or course informationEdition, language and level

Missing information is not filled in by guesswork. Add it yourself when the source does not provide it.

Save from an open page with the browser extension

The VIOTray extension for Chromium browsers can help capture information from a page you already have open. Review the captured draft before creating the wish.

  1. On a computer, open Chrome Web Store, select Add to Chrome and confirm installation. Reload your VIOTray tab and pin the extension icon in your browser.
  2. Open a film, place or product page and press the VIOTray icon.
  3. Review the captured details, select Open draft and save the wish in VIOTray.

Chrome Web Store handles installation and published updates. If you use your own server, change its address in the extension settings.

Use the extension when content is rendered in the browser or the website limits server-side extraction. It cannot guarantee access to every private or restricted page.

Video walkthrough: save a film and a place

Watch how to add a film using the extension icon and a place using the prompt on the map page, review the draft and save the card in VIOTray. The video has no audio.

Choose a specific public page

  • A film or series page rather than search results.
  • A product page rather than a cart or checkout.
  • A particular place rather than a map search.
  • A recipe, book, course or article rather than an account homepage.

A supported source does not guarantee every field on every page. The page structure and the information it exposes still matter.

Why a draft may be incomplete

Login screens, CAPTCHA, dynamic content and source restrictions can prevent extraction. Try the browser extension or create the card manually. Do not include passwords, session tokens or private access links in a wish.

Choose where the idea belongs

Check the category, add a note and decide whether the wish belongs in your personal collection or a group. Saving a link does not automatically invite anyone or schedule a plan.

Useful to know

Will every website fill every field?

No. Results depend on the public data the page exposes and any source restrictions. Review the result and complete missing details manually.

Does previewing a link create a wish?

No. Opening the draft and saving the wish are separate actions.

Have an idea in mind?
